Webinar: Docker Volume Drivers and Storage – Live Web Docker Training 10/18/16

InfoSiftr is hosting a webinar on Docker volume drivers and storage, 10/18/16 at 10 am (Pacific). The session will last 60 minutes and is presented by Tianon Gravi (Docker Core Maintainer, OCI Runtime Spec TDC member, Debian Developer, and SVP of Operations for InfoSiftr).

“While the ideal world consists of entirely stateless applications,” the webinar description reads, “the real world is a bit more complicated, and storage requirements are inevitable.”

The webinar will help participants address those storage requirements, discussing bind mounts, local volumes, and Docker-managed volumes – as well as some Docker volume plugins that make storage requirements simpler. There will be live demos throughout the presentation, showcasing real world solutions.

The webinar also features a “brief overview of Docker,” so those new to the containerization concept can see the “why” behind the container craze, before diving into the “how” of making containers work.

“If your application is similar to the majority, you’ll eventually end up with on-disk state,” webinar presenter Tianon Gravi says. “Docker’s volumes are the primary means of managing and controlling that state in a Docker-centric deployment, making understanding them a crucial part of any Docker deployment.”
